Long Beach Bike Meeting at City Hall, Monday July 30
Check out the following City of Long Beach announcement on their upcoming bike meetings. We’d love to see you there!
Members of the community are invited to attend a new series of planned meetings designed to talk about what is happening in Long Beach with respect to bicycling — what the City is doing, what local advocacy organizations are doing, what locals businesses are doing, what our bike clubs are doing, and what is happening in general.
Based on an initial survey of local community members, we are proposing to have monthly sessions — one month in the afternoon at City Hall, and the following month in the evening at various locations. We are hoping that this schedule will allow everyone who wants to attend the open dialogues to do so on a bi-monthly basis, and we will plan the discussion topics with this in mind (i.e., that most people will only attend every other month).
Our first meeting will be repeated in both July and August. Its purpose is to (1) provide an overview of what is happening in the city…along with time lines for various projects and (2) to allow everyone to have input into future sessions.
The agenda for both meetings will be the same, so you need only attend one of the two meetings.
Meeting I: Monday July 23, 3:00- 4:30 pm, City Hall…City Council Chambers
OR
Meeting II: Thursday August 2, 6:30-8:00 pm, Exhibit A Gallery, 555 Pine Avenue
1. Brief Intro – 10 min
2. Overview of City Projects – 40 min
3. Discussion – How to make future sessions most useful – format and content – 40 min
