Bikeable Communities is offering the Go Big or Go Home T-Shirt in memory of our dear friend Mark Bixby whose life ended tragically in an accident on March 16, 2011.

A private plane with Mark and five others crashed on take-off from the Long Beach airport; five were killed and one survived. The sole survivor, Mike Jensen, was Mark’s employer, mentor and and an avid fellow cyclist. Mike suffered critical, life threatening injuries; he continues to make excellent progress in his recovery.

Mark’s mission was to create and extend safe access for bicycles, connect communities, and create a network of routes along the Southern California coast from the Palos Verdes Peninsula to San Clemente. One of Mark’s favorite expressions was “Go Big or Go Home” and in that spirit we will continue the pursuit of his goals for bicycle advocacy.
