Bikeable Communities presents the 2018 El Dorado Race Series Starting March 12th at 5:30pm.
The El Dorado (“El Do”) Race Series is a twilight criterium held on a closed 1.7 mile course in Long Beach’s El Dorado Park. The race is one of the oldest continuously run races in the US, now nearing its 36th year. With four categories (Juniors, 4-5’s, 1-2-3’s and Masters) the races attracts everyone from beginning racers to Olympians. Come out and join us each Tuesday night from mid-March to the end of August for a great evening of racing.
Time Trial Series begins before the El Dorado Race Series. Save the following dates:
March 26, April 16, May 7, May 21, June 11, and July 9
Rules: Only road bicycles shall be used. A road bike is a bike with drop bars. All mountain bikes and Time Trial bikes are not allowed to be used in the criterium race. The criterium is a USA Cycling sanctioned event.
Riders may only ride in a forward direction on the course. Alternatively, lapped riders may be permitted to remain in the race and all will finish on the same lap as the leaders. At the finish, these riders will be placed according to the number of the laps they are down and then their position in the finish.
Parking is free, however there is a $5.00 entry fee to the park. Annual passes are sold at the El Dorado Nature Center Museum, 7550 E. Spring Street or the Department of Parks.
An annual USA Cycling racing license, which costs $75 for adults and $40 for juniors, covers you in all USA Cycling races and expires on December 31 of the year you purchased it. Learn More
