Beach Path Approved!

bikelbtopSUCCESS!  We spent all day at the Coastal Commission hearing…. ALL DAY (8:30am – 5:30pm), but Bikeable Communities successfully helped lobby to get the Beach Path Reconstruction approved.  The new construction will produce a dedicated bike path and separate dedicated walking path.

The new facilities will not only create better access and a safer environment for local residents and visitors, but the re-configuring of the path will also free-up more than 7 acres of “contiguous sand” (usable beach area).

So Long Beach’s beach is about to get an upgrade!

Bikeable Communities will continue to work with city council and planning to dial in the final design, making sure that the bike path portion is the best it can be.

THANK YOU to all the folks that came out to speak in favor of the plan and to everyone who was involved!
